I've been lurking on this forum for about a month and have become addicted. It's great! Yesterday evening about 6:30 I picked up my new 2007 Street Glide. I't Black Pearl and beautiful. I had a previous Harley but haven't ridden in 5 years. I put 153.6 miles on it today and I love it. No tranny whine, just a little clunk when shifting. It was 85 degrees today and no excess heat problem. I did have some wind buffeting coming from below the fairing and right at the top of my helmut from above the windshield. I stopped at a dealer and bought some wind deflectors for the fairing and they help a little. Think I'll go to a 6" windshield too. I'll be riding all day tomorrow, so keep the rubber down and pictures to follow.
The tranny whine will come with time, just put some Amsoil or Red Line and it will almost make it disappear. As for the windshields, I concur with Towpro. I bought an 8" Aero from Faistair, and it is awesome.
