If your kick back is only when hot try to start the bike as soon as you turn on the key as it doesn't allow additional gas into the engine. Works for me. I used to wait until the fuel pump stopped and had hot kick back

Great input, I will also try that after I get the rattle and clanking during idle is fixed/resolved.
This is going to sound simplistic, but take it for what it is worth...
Got a '14 Ltd, and some time back, I was having the same compensator rattle and knock everyone complains about. Took it to my dealer while still under warranty and said fix it. He said, before we replace it, try HD Formula+ in my primary. Reluctantly agreed, thinking I'd be right back to him in a week.
I was absolutely amazed at the difference in noise. I don't rattle and knock anymore. Even with the EITMS system engaged and one jug shut down, I get very little noise.
Just returned from week-long trip with a several people with both 103's and 110's. It got hot in the midwest this past weekend, and a few were complaining about their compensator noise. So, while stopped at a dealership, two with 110's had their primaries drained and refilled with Formula+. Results?? Two more believers.
I know it sounds like snake oil, and it won't fix a damaged compensator. But whatever the characteristics of the fluid is, it works to reduce the typical compensator knock and rattle we all hate.
Yup, the Rotella T6 I use gave me the same results. It's inexpensive enough for me to justify 2k fluid change intervals.
If kick-back is your only issue check your battery. Good battery fully charged will sometimes take care of it.
Yup, it's how I can tell its time to replace my battery. Replaced it the last time it started that and it's gone with the new battery. Done that the last 2 times.
