Has anyone had issues with Drag $pecialties and there products when defective? In January I bought a tach/speedo combo part number 2210-0332. It worked for about two weeks then the needles stuck half way up the dial faces. I was cruising and looked down and they were there. I went back to the dealer with it and was told I could send it back myself. I said I didn't want to but they reluctantly did and after three weeks a replacement came in. This weekend the same happened again. I don't know if its a defective unit or design but that is two now in six months. My electrical on the bike is good so its not that. Poor design or something. The HD dealer doesn't want to send it back and told me I can. So I contacted Dag $pecialties and they said the dealer has to. So I spent $450 Canadian on this device and no recourse. Yes the dealer should do it, but if they don't one would think the distributor would, given that this is the second time in 6 months. And fellas, I really don't want to hear " well you should have left the stock one on". I will only accept that from anyone who has NOT changed a thing on their ride since it came from HD. Sorry guys, I'm pissed off.

I think your dealer sucks. Harley sometimes forces their dealers to carry crappy products like Kuryakyn. Instead of good products like Rivco. But there's no excuse to not back up their product. I wouldn't accept that answer.
I usually tell places they better deal with me, and not my wife. The thought of a pissed off woman in their store usually puts the Fear of God into them.
Good luck.
going further up the chain of command, in writing, certified mail, polite, all the way to the head of the board of directors - in fact I'd start there - has always worked for me..
who owns the dealership? it's public info. Harley ditto. And same for mfg of defective gadget - three sets of polite demands - straight to the heart of each corrupt outfit.is important that you do not foul up your small-claim suit... pure business language...and no threat of legal action - they know that already since it was certified mail.
generally you have to make a claim prior in time to filing suit. they know this too.
good luck!

Dealer needs too send it back. Drag dosnt deal with customers. Tell your dealership you want the name and number to there sales representative. Drag is good about returns and warrantys as long as it's in the allotted time frame.
I have completely lost all faith in this speedo/tach. Two in six months shows a possible defective product or design. I would like to swap with cash for an autometer they sell but I doubt that will happen either. So even if I get another unit and it fails say in another 6 months like this one, what recourse do I have. The one year warranty will be up and I'm stuck with a $450 unit that has been replaced twice already?

Well I guess ya shouldn't have changed anything in the first place... Sorry i was dropped as a baby.... just playing.
Does it have a good ground? Maybe its grounding thru the body and that is causing a ground short or something weird like that. Two in 6 months is crazy but id be looking at the actual set up on the wiring of the unit also.
batman, it has a standard receptical for the stock plug. Just plug it in an go. The original speedo works fine and always had. I just wanted a tach without mounting on the bars. You are right that two in six months is odd. The cruise as well on the bike cycles up and down when applied with it on as well. Stock speedo cruise is good. I contacted the manufacturer on that one and was told we didn't test it for cruise control stability and in fact they said cruise isn't standard on a road king. Is too on a 2003 Rk Classic. So I'm thinking perhaps, if I can convince the dealer to send it back perhaps Drag $pecialties will give them a credit for it and I can fine another perhaps an Autometer combo.
