Just cracked open my T-Max package and read through the destructions. I'm about to load the software and search for the right basemap setup and wondered if anyone has any advice or suggestions for me before I install this unit or start with mapping?
Been looking through the map files and I see nothing to base mymap from. Most 54mm Zippers T/B's use the 4.22 duty cycle injectors vs the 4.89gps which I have, and almost all Zippers 107" builds are using 657 cams too. Anyone else have a base map using 54mm T/B, 4.89 injectors and a mid range cam grind. If not, guess i'll be calling Zippers on Tuesday cause they state in the pdf not to use maps that don't match your TB/Injector setup or it won't work very well. Uggggh!
Have ya got it all together already, just waiting on the TMax setup? Can;t ya just put a std base map in & let it tune itself in?
Yes you can load a base and auto tune, but it's quicker if you use the right map.
Got all the parts Friday andwe'reinstalling them this week. I have the T-Max and justwanted to ensure I hadthe right base map to start with. Looks like I got it licky licked here now Phil, and hope to have a few video's up by next weekend.
There is a very long thread about tuning these things on the VTwin forum. Probably 500 posts by now. Check it out.
Also when you are cruising through the standard maps there are instructions to cut down on the number of choices you have. Things like pipes, engine size, cams, heads and so on. Read the instructions and you will find the selection a lot easier.
