im thinkinggetting 2-1 pipes and sell my Bub RH TDs. why? i know its a bagger and dual pipes look better. but the weight savings and a midrange power is what im looking for. if im correct its a savings 30lbs. or so. (its the former street bike in me i guess.) im saving my $ for the 211 cams upgrade, and I'm trying to get the most power for my budget.
In the Ca. Bay Area mostscooters have THs.they make a great productthey put out power and they are a local company.the only thing I dont like about them is the finish isnt the greatest, theycrack and the heat shields are a extra cost.
TheRH 2-1 cost less & come with heat shields. the fit and finish looks way better.
my questions is does anyone have dynos with both the TH and the RH 2-1 on a RG? id like to see them in a comparo
I briefly had a T-Header on my RG ~ only because it was the only black one available. As soon as D&D released black FatCats, I had one.
If you REALLY care about performance, you should consider with the D&D FatCat or the SuperTrapp SuperMeg.
I do have dyno sheets from my bike w/Theader (baseline, 88") and FatCat. While they are not the exact comprison you are looking for, the do show the characteristics of the torque curve for each pipe. I can dig them up, if you care about that...???....
If you're looking for a quiet performance pipe, go the Supertrapp route. If you want an all out performance pipe with a great bark, then go the D&D FatCat rather than the Thunderheader. They make a better torque curve than the TH and the D&D doesn't have the typical flat spot in the lower RPM range that I have seen on the TH. I got mine on Friday and the quality is great!

I agree..............Supertrapp or Fatcat. Depending on what sound level you want, Supertrapp with closed endcap is quiet power, while the Fatcat is louder power.
I've also had a Thunderheader, and while it sounds great.............the power and curves are just not there. Not to mention the poor quality, crappy chrome, and crappy heatshields that they actually charge you extra for.
Supertrapp is the only adjustable system on the market......just something to keep in mind.
had the VH pro pipe on my 00 heritage.after 5k miles it blued thru the heat shield at the baffle. currently have the supertrapp super meg on my 05 electra glide and love it. 10k miles and no issues. quiet performance[sm=smiley20.gif] can wind it up and let off and absolutely no backfiring or popping. a little spendier, $850.00, but a better product imo than v&h. just my .02. glider out
