Heading from Dallas to Milwaukee on Monday. About 1,000 miles each way. I am going for a week, so I need to bring a lot of clothes and stuff. I don't have a Tour Pak, but I have the large H-D roller bag that sits on the back seat attached to the passenger backrest.
What essentials do you all bring on the long haul?
I will be bringing:
Rain gear
Extra sunglasses
Sun screen
Large Maglite flashlight
Tire pressure gauge
Microfiber towels in case I hit rain and need to wipe my eye protection down
First Aid kit
Bottled water
What other essentials should I make room for? I am riding 600 miles a day for the longest leg. I have everything loaded in the bike's GPS and I have Sirus XM to ensure I have tunes. Also will have charger cable for my phone and cigarette lighter plug.

You are right on the flashlight. I already have it so, I thought it would be useful, but smaller is likely better for this trip.
- Take pictures of the front and back of credit cards, driver's license, and insurance. Keep the pictures on your cell phone, and mail them to youself. If all else fails and ya lose everything, you can go to a Pc and pull your email with the pictures.
- Granola bars or some kind of snack
- give someone your itinerary, and Check in with them each day.
- bungee cords
- gorilla tape
- ty wraps
- Gold Bond powder. Put a nice dusting in your shorts before each ride and you'll stay much more comfortable.

Long sleeve shirts for the ride so you won't bet sunburned.
Something to cover the back of your neck for the north ride so it won't get sunburned.
Electrolytes is usually better than H2O for hydration.
Don't forget to eat. Some good food along your way.
