Can't go wrong with either. I currently have a AE and had a MC II before but I didn't get the mileage I was hoping for....

I've had both and couldn't complain about either one. Check out Rocky Mountain ATV online. Great prices, no tax, and free shipping ... Usually in two days too.

I just replace the MCII on my 2012 limited. When I had those tires put on about 20k miles ago the first ride on a rainy day the tires lost traction quick in stopping and taking off. They did this throughout their life. I just dealt with it and planned accordingly. I thought harder center for longer life trade off for slicker tires when wet. Never had a problem in curves or tar snakes.

I replaced those tires today with American Elites. First ride home was right after a rain. The tires didn't lose traction on the wet pavement like the MCII did right out of the parking lot. I got up some speed about 20 or so and pushed on the back brake as firm as I could they stopped very good even with the ABS kicking in. Better than the MCII. I did the same with the front, and the tire chirped a bit but didn't slide and feel slick.

Based on this right now I am liking the American Elites better. Time will tell, and I can't speak for wear yet.

MCII lack traction on some sandy or wet surface and after half way worn are noisy just like the stock ones on curvy concrete hwys.

I have 18,500 miles on my MC2s and they haven't reached the wear bars yet front or back. I'll be replacing them both at 20,000 miles because I believe in being safe rather than sorry when on 2 wheels. I run 40 PSI front and back all the time. I've never had a problem on wet or dry pavement. They've performed great and I'll be putting another set on in a couple weeks. It's an easy choice for me!! Those are my thoughts.

I had both AE's and MCII's on my '09 Ultra Classic. The MCII's went 25K where the AE's were replaced at 20K. The MCII's were less likely to wander or follow the grooves on the grooved concrete portions of some of the highways. They're the same price +/- $5 at the local indy. My current OEM's have 16K on them and will be replaced with MCII's at 20K.

Well I also have had both but my vote is for AE's, they don't roar as bad and to me the wet traction lacked a bit also with the MC II's. I currently have over 6000 on the rear and it looks really great and probably 500 on the front.

I can tell you the MC II's are slippery when wet and get worse as they wear. I have not experienced this with the American Elites. I feel the Dunlops have a softer ride also.

I've decided to go with the Elites this time, seems all those that have run both give the edge to the Elites overall.

I was at J&Ps open house over the weekend and talked with the Dunlop rep , he told me tires wear longer towards the end of the tread life and I could expect another 4-6K out of mine yet so got a couple 3 months before I need them.
