Been researching this but can't find much on it. Can someone please explain a stage 2 cam with an screaming eagle upgrade. Guessing it is a power move. But what kind of value does it bring to a bike. Thanks
Ozzy

Don't really have one yet. Looking at a bike and the guy is talking about how all the upgrades on the bike are worth so much. Trying to get some what educated on it before I call and talk to him. Easy to trick me when it comes to mechanics of the bike, Thanks
Upgrades add nothing to the value to the bike...people selling bikes think they do but they don't....use KBB.com to determine your price and bargaining point

Upgrades do add value if the buyer believes they do and is willing to pay the price or close to the price the seller is asking. On the other hand, dealers will not account for upgrades for trade-in value.
If he did the stage 2 as per Harley, the bike has a se hi flow a/c, a se 255 cam (usually), se mufflers and a download to the ECM ( a preprogrammed map for the above mods). It's a safe, effective way to get modest power increases and gives you good grunt at lower to midrange Rams. How much is it worth on resale? Up to the buyer I would say. Dealers won't give you crap for it on a trade in, a private buyer might.
If I am the buyer, and the upgrades done to the sellers bike are in line with work I would have had done. Then yes, I'll pay a few bones more. Why wouldn't I?
But any mods that I personally don't care for or wouldn't do. He can keep them and replace with stock parts.
As said B4 check Kelly Blue Book for value of the Bike, if KBB value & sellers asking price
are within reason the value is there. There a lot of Harleys for sale now days, and most people
are asking more then the Bikes are worth. Most everyone has a Stage-I done, some will
add cams, and some go all out for a big power. The more that you put into a Bike the less
profit you will get out of it.
I stay away from bikes which have been worked on- too much a mystery and there have been dozens of threads here over the years where someone screwed up a bike and dumped it on the market.
