Used to remove the antenna and put it back on till, you guessed it, I didn't get it tight enough.
Bought a 12" flexable rubber one from Meijers for 5.99 and solved all the problems. Folds over and hooks under the luggage rack.
Works as well as the stock one. IMHO
On my 07 UC I have a Nelson-Rigg cover. I contacted them and asked if I could purchase 2 of the large plastic grommets that they use on the bottom of the cover. They were nice enoughto sent me out two at no charge. I marked the location of the two antennas and installed the grommets. It worked out great, I just thread the antennas through the gommets and then finish putting on the cover. Good luck.
I just fold my antenneas down. I start by putting it on the fairing and pulling it back to the tour pack, then just push the antenneas forward, under the cover, and finish by pulling the cover down over the ends of the pipes.
The dresser Rain cover.... It folds up real small and flattens out nicely for travel and storage. I used this every night when I did my 3 week Connecticut to Key West and back ride. well worth the money....
Used it when we went on the Hill Country ride also.... as for the antenna I just bend it under the passenger arm rest...
