If for long term storage and indoors where temps fluctuate (i.e. unheated garage) then make sure you get a breathable indoor cover.

If you want to use it for both indoors and outdoors, HD sells a breathable indoor/outdoor cover.

I use a couple of sheets. I store mine thru the winter in a garage. Its breathable cotton, does not scratch and keeps the dust off. Plus it is really cheap. Pulled em out of the closet. Wife not too happy, but does the job on the scoot, and thats what matters.

I bought my 03RKKC used a year or so ago and it came from a spoiled existence ,barely used and stored in heated areas. The HD cover that came with it was a soft flannel type material. After a couple of temperature and humidy changes stored in my shed this cover was wet/dripping along the bottom edges but the bike seemed dry!I immediately went out to one of those liquidation/surplus and got a weatherproof covers with the vents in it. Now some mornings when I take the cover off the bike is wet ,sweating with condensation! I'm realizing that the fluffy cover is only good if you store your bike next to your bed and for real storage...perhaps that recommended HD cover. You only get what you pay for!

I use this one http://www.dowcopowersports.com/prod...?item=50004-03

I've used a few over the years from super cheapo models to heavy expensive models.

I am big believer in quality and that you get what you pay for. Pay $89 now and you'll have the thing forever...has saved me from serious hail damage already twice when out on trips.

Have fun...

I've have had one of these for the past 10 years. http://cycleshell.com/

The sport model was used indoor & outdoor for my 1999 Suzuki Intruder 1500.

I just upgraded the cover portion to the "tourer model" for $225.00 for my RG. I currently use it inside and couldn't be happier with it. The "tourer" model covers everything without coming in contact my 14" CeeBailey windshield or chopped tour pak with luggage rack.

Use some old bed sheets, works great and doesn't trap moisture.
