I lied... I went back and looked. My longest day was 1540 miles.
It was also a BBG, my first. It was a route designed with a rip cord option with a 500 out-and back from the Quad Cities in IA to Mitchell, SD. If I felt good after that one, I had the other half as 250 mile out and back from the Quad Cities to Crawfordsville, IN. If I was tired or had issues, I could bail on the second half and still have a SS1000. I rode past my house after riding 1,000 miles and continued on to Crawfordsville and back. That one took just over 23 hours.
Thats a ride! I dont know if I could ever do that. I salute you!
I have riden many Bikes. The funny thing is that I have ridden my sportster just as many one day miles as my touring bike(street glide). I just wondered what is the most miles that you have ridden in one day? It is only a question, do not take it as a proving ground how manly you are. I have know men and women that have ridden the U.S. in all sorts of two wheels. It is only a question? If you asked me this question my totall miles in one day is 732 from tenn to daytona,fl.
did the saddle sore iron butt ride on my Suzuki marauder. 1000 miles in less then 24 hours. we did it in 20 hours or so...
average 75 mph for 20 hours is laughable IMO. Location? Maybe back and forth across NV or WY maybe ..
I've driven from Virginia Beach to Naples, FL in just under 12. Not on a motorcycle, but...average was 80 - including gas stops- for about 12 hours. I've ridden one of the motorcycles on several road trips at 80+ for most of the trip.
Rode CT to AL, 1030 miles, this past June in 13.5 hours. That's an average of 74.
NOW...I will NEVER ride 75 mph for 20 hours. Eff that.
Only recently started riding longer distances. Before my 2014 Ultra which I purchased in August, I had cruise bikes. I used to get paid to ride a Road King Police bike. Now THAT was fun! But never really more than 100-150 miles in a tour. Retired now and I have the time so................. 850 mile 3 day trip in September and a 700 miler 4 day this month. Not a long trip but looking forward to the Spring when I'll do a really good one over several states. I will NOT be doing 75 mph for 20 hours!
Longest distance I've ridden is 420 miles or so from Hico, WV back home to Indianapolis when we went whitewater rafting back in the early 80's. The last 50 miles or so was in a NASTY rain/thunderstorm.
800+ mi on a '83 honda CX650 Custom. Took 13 hrs. From Little Creek, VA to Kokomo, IN. Interstate 64 wasn't done then. Had to take US 60 through the mountains in late October. Boy was that cold.
