Default '06 Electra-Glide, Bank Angle Sensor clicks, does not start

My bagger would not start this morning, after 30 days and 1400 good miles, new clutch cable and and oil change.

I have a recent, 2 month old battery in the bike, which I just took back to Pep Boys this evening, and it tested fine.

I have a new 2032 battery in the FOB, 2 weeks old, which tested 3.3V. I also put a new FOB battery in it, and the same result...the BAS clicks, and I may occasionally get a slight turn on the starter-sometime. It's as if the battery was week. All connections were tight, the fuel pump, radio and lights all go on as expected, but she won't turn over.

I neglected to reset the BAS only because it did not fall over (that happened a few months ago). I will do that tomorrow.

Any ideas to check?

- Chris

Follow your ground lead from the battery to the starter ground point and be sure that bolt is tight.

Fixed. I pulled the start and kill switched and saw no frayed wires. Wiggle tested all connections/relays from the battery to the starter and when I got to the starter +, she kicked once. So I pulled off the + cable and noticed a small amount of corrosive buildup, but the cables were nice and snug. I cleaned the connections, reconnected them and voila---started right up. I'll clean them up better and put some dielectric grease on them when I get her home.

Thanks for your help.

Wow, happened again....this time after only a day....been sitting for a week or two and I am back at it. I did the following:
- replaced the two starter relays that "click"
- took off negatives from both ground lugs, wire brushed and put dialectric grease on them
- did same with battery terminals
- took out starter solenoid, noticed some oil in there, cleaned it up, the brushes and also noted the solenoid operates without sticking
- next is the multimeter to check voltage at the starter--unfortunately that's at home and I am not

Any further ideas?

Default Starter Relays click, solenoid plugged once in awhile

The saga continues. I got the starter solenoid plunger to move only once. I had the cover off and hit the switch and it plunged then bounced out, as expected. That happened after I reseated the 40amp master fuse, but never again.

I check voltage in the solenoid this way and get 12.71v when ignition is off and starter button is not depressed. Meter + to solenoid positive interior copper lug at the op around 1 o'clock. , Meter - to solenoid negative interior copper lug at the bottom. Doing same with ignition on I get 1.37v and then .12 when starter button pressed. not sure if I am checking things correctly-any detailed pointers are appreciated. May get a solenoid rebuild kit, but I think my problem is not getting juice to it. I just don't know what else to check

Just a suggestion as you are looking for ideas....these cables are known to corrode up under the insulation as well. might be worth replacing them with new
