Default Wobble

I noticed a wobble in my bars while decelerating at 25 mph.+-I was told thet many bikes will do that. I tried it yesterday at about 35 to 40mph. Put the cruise on and took my hands off the barsand the wobble came back. I tought while it was under power this might not happen.

I happens with a very light grip or hands off. (no I don't go hands off for very long)

Any thoughts on where to start looking?

Tires out of balance? Warped rim, spoke wheels can be out of true and cause this too.

You might want to check your steering head adjustment and neck bearings. Over or under inflated tires can also cause this as well.

I have the same issue with my shovelhead. It "wiggles" between 25 - 35 mph on acceleration and shakes on deceleration. I have checked everything obvious and had 2 shops check the bike. After 35 it goes away and does not affect the high speed performance.

I have new balanced tires, the alignment in the swingarm has been checked, the front and rear tire alignment has been checked, the neck bearings and swingarm bushings replaced. No one has been able to identify the source. The latest suggestion was the Hiems joints used to isolate the engine and transmission.I'm really frustrated with this one because I'm trying too sell the bike.

Good luck on your quest.
