ive got my 07 flht to roadking conversion just about buttoned up...the bad news, it wont start!..it doesnt appear to be pumping gas...when i disconnect the quick fuel line disconnect, its dry...the starter turns over, but no fire...when i turn on the key, i dont hear the fuel pump, until i turn the ignition off and then i just hear a quick flutter coming from the tank..
i have followed the service manual as far as the the handlebar wiring...
is it possible that its not getting fuel because the tank was dry and its a new fuel pump??HELP!!!!
did you check all your fuzes to see if you have a blown one? if you can't hear the fuel pump when you turn the ign on, probably you aren't getting any power to it.
Not likely. It's a self priming system. Unless a line is plugged.
You almost definitely have a wire harness plug connected wrong or not connected at all.
Perhaps a blown fuse.
question is though if you wanted a road king so bad why didn't you just buy one in the first place?
Nothing that complicated is ever a direct swap.
But good luck
answer: the dealer wanted 5 grand to trade and i couldnt live with the flht any longer. i was already upside down on what i owed bigtime..trading wasnt an option....
the only thing that was a bolt on, was the handlebar switches...i had to go by the service manual and splice in some switches from an 05 model..the partsbook show that they fit the 07s, but a couple of wires were a different color than the 07 harness..
the fuel pump fuse is intact...
