I recently purchased a set of power dual headers and was second guessing my original thought of a self install. Worried about warranty. It is a 2016 RK just purchased in May. I was wondering if anyone has any experience getting HD to install privately purchased parts?
I had them install items on my wife's FXDC when we bought it but they were HD add-ons. They warranty them for the same duration as the bike. I wasn't aware they install customer purchased parts, must be trying to make a buck where they can these days.
If your not comfortable doing it yourself and they'll do it for you, let em.

They haven't said they would do it. I just wanted to ask the pros here before I go make myself look like an *** at a dealer for asking. 😊

Yeah I don't think it would make a difference with the warranty either. I go and make one hesitating remark to the wife about it and now she's chiming in about the warranty. I need to learn to just shut it!!
Many dealers will usually warrant add-on parts within 90 days of bike purchase. I think if the dealer can order the parts and install they may warrant. My dealer did that with my Rush Big Louie's when I did the 1K service. Not sure on your self purchase though. But might still be worth a call.

Tell her by the time you're done with the cams & heads the pipes will be the least of her warranty concerns
