I put the Heritage bars on my 03 Road King and had no issues with the cables. I did have to tweak the front brake line just a little but if you go real slow you can bend it without crimping it.
As for comfort, it was like night and day. So much better than the stock RK bars
Do yourself a favor and get the newer Heritage bars not heritage style. To check out the difference,sit on a new,road king and then a new Heritage before you buy.
Heritage, heritage style, reach. All are similar, but slightly different. Somewhere out there on the interwebz I found a chart showing the differences between the three, and others.
I installed heritage bars on my 04 RK. No cable or wiring changes necessary. A little tweaking of the brake hard line was required. Some minor re-routing the wires and cables was involved, the details of which I do not recall.
