I had a fairing and set of saddle bags from Tsukayu on my Yamaha V Star 1100 and I really liked them. The quality was good. I ordered directly from the Tsukayu web site and it did take a bit for shipping. The were no hidden fees for customs or anything else and they came in fiberglass shipping boxes.
The saddle bags are tough, My bike got knocked over in a parking lot and the only damage to the right saddle bag (bike landed on it) was some chips in the paint.
It's been a while since anyone has posted anything new about Tsukayu's products and customer service experience. I have a 2014 RK FLHR. Today, I ordered the double boox fairing and HD style tour pack with audio.
I've read many positive and a few negative reviews on different forums including this one. My biggest concern was ordering from overseas. Decisions, decisions... Taxes, customs, bank fees, insurance, etc..
I know, if I wanted a street glide, I should have bought one, right? Well, I don't. I've always had RKs. Having the option to add and remove all the accessories it's what I like.
I really couldn't find too much detail on experiencing the entire process of ordering, delivery, installation and product review.
So here is my experience which will be updated with each event.
Looks like I have to add this edit:
I am NOT trying to find something wrong with this company. As stated above...I am merely sharing my experience, and I appreciate you sharing any of your experiences dealing with Tsukayu, it's services, and it's products. There is no ill will intended with this thread, and obviously, there will be those who don't seem to get it. So, any negative comments and/or inquiries to this post are unsolicited and unwelcome.
I just don't like the name of the company that in and of itself is a negative connotation to me.
I got the same fairing for my FLHR last December. Love it, and it's quality is outstanding. I laid my bike down last month and while it scratched up pretty bad, I didn't find any cracks only bent mounting brackets.
Im looking to get a batwing for my FAT BOB. They only sell one of them, however, I would prefer to get the GPS or Boox fairing. Does anyone know if it would be as simple as changing to a standard round headlight in order to have one of the other options fit? Would simply doing that and maybe a set of brackets for the Fat Bob work? I realize with the th Fat bob I would have to use clamps to hold it on the forks...Ive already made a set of those for a fat boy windshield to fit on my bike. Any insight, or known dimensions for one vs the other would be extremely helpful?
thank you
I used Tsukayu for my old street bob...the main reason was they were the only one at the time who had a batwing with the headlight cut out smaller for dyna's. i didn't want a bunch of room between the headlight and edges of the fairing. Its been 4 years since then.
My impressions when i ordered it...fit and quality of the fairing was great. After having it one month...i wished i saved my money and ordered an empty fairing. The sterreo set up they send is complete trash. I put in a good HU and speakers and amp. I rode that bike for another 3 1/2 years as a street bob with road king bags, tsukayu fairing...and loved Frankenstein.
Yes, i'd rather support an american company, like i said though at the time they were they only option for proper fitment. If i had to do it all again i'd probably support the local guys but i certainly had zero complaints about their fairing...just their choice in audio.
I bought the fairing and bags just over a year ago...quick shipping, no issues.then ended up with an electrical issue that kept getting blamed on a bad battery so I didn't get to ride my bike much. Now that we solved that issue, Ive been riding a bit more (they frown on dropping the 4 yr old off at pre K on the bike) and I love the fairing and the bags, I'm about to get everything painted, just can't decide on the color. I've got a nice custom color now, but its so faded from the sun, and the bags are primer, ugly. So my issue is the front end just feels squirrely to me with the fairing on it. I honestly haven't been using it for the last couple months. It got me to thinkin, it is an extra 35lbs...I'm just curious if you've noticed this? I'm 5' 4" about 145, not exactly a weakling...but maybe its just that I'm a bit smaller, doesn't bother my husband, that hes noticed, But he also hasn't been riding the bike for 10 years. I love the fairing, and I'm about ready to slap it back on and go again....
