Forehead slap moment
So I bought the converter for my tourpak and rear turn signals so that they will all be S/T/T.
First got the one for the rear turn signals cause the tourpak one had to be ordered. So installed that no problem. Worked great.
Then yesterday the other one came in so I went through the instructions to install.
Got it all put together and the turn signals on the tourpak would not work. Everything else worked fine. but the turn signals would not behave consistently. I bet I spent an hour checking and rechecking everything.
Finally it dawned on me. When I removed the tourpak lights it did not register that the previous owner swapped the 1157 bulbs for 1157 LED bulbs. Apparently since they were not intended for turn signal he did not install a load equalizer. So of course, BOOM there was my problem. LED bulbs don't work for turn signals in the stock HD system.
I should have seen those bulbs immediately when I popped them out.
