Went from an 08 SG to an 11 RGU. Loved my SG. 7 years 45k miles. Was a shark hater for years then in early 15 I started to kinda like the look and hard a lot about the ride. So when I seem the 11 set up how I wanted, looked like a blacked out cvo. Guy dumped a ton of cash into it and I got it cheap. Feel in love with the ride. 11 months later I upgraded to the RGS. Loved the RGU but it had some issues with the build up they did on the motor. I just dumped it quick minimal loss. Have the 16 RGS now. Love it. Won't be going back to the Batwing. But I can't disagree with the op. It's his opinion of the 2 bikes that matters in his world. But at least he has an educated opinion. Most guys who bash the shark never rode one. And are only repeating what they heard.

Good luck with the new ride. Congrats.

That goes the other way as well. I agree ride both and buy what you like. Harley makes plenty of bikes for lots of different people

Absolutely.

I have nothing bad to say about the SG for sure. Great bike. Loved mine. The RG is different. And I prefer the difference.

I don't hate on any Harley. Well except the deuce. Lol. Harley failed on the FLH fender flip on the rear. The guys back in the day did a better job in their garages.

If the RGU would have been available in the 14 model year I'd own one but very pleased with my Ultra. Not switching anytime soon.
