What is it that you do not like about your 08?
What would you like to do to your 08 that you do not have and how much would that cost?
How old are you and how many miles to you put on a year?
Finally can you swing the difference in $$$$ without going into debt?
All things to take into consideration.
After that, I'd say how much can you get for your's as it is now if you sold it yourself if you could?
If you could then I would buy a used post 14 and there should be many more of them here shortly after the 17's come out which are rumored to have a 107 motor in them.
I have an 08 105th Anniversary Ultra along with a 13 Ultra CVO. I seldom ride the 08 any more and have considered just selling it. I have also considered upgrading to a used Rushmore CVO limited and having two CVO's.
I should mention she only has 21000 on her thundermax 551 cams new 944 in the rear and plenty of chrome but seem to get an itch once in a while and also paid for.
From the sound of your original post, I thought your bike had high mileage. It's just broken in!
My '06 Ultra has 45k miles. I can ride it as far, fast and comfortably as the guy on a new Rushmore. With the exception of the new Low Rider S, there's nothing in Harley's lineup that excites me.
I think I'm just getting bored with it which actually is too bad since it looks so good too but just thought I would throw it out there to see what other peoples opinions are never hurts to ask

================
With only 21k miles on your 8yr old bike that equates to riding only 2,600 miles yrly on avg is not what i'd consider near enough yrly riding to justify spending $22-25k on a new bike.
Like already suggested i also rec you spend a few bucks (maybe $1k-1,500 or so ) to upgrade / improve the rear area for the wife.
I installed an adjustable tourpack relocation kit on my 09 allowing it to be moved back a few inches helped a lot.
You can also install relocation mounts on the pass floorboards to better positioning them for more comfort.
Whats about a new Mustang touring seat?
For a few $K you could significantly improve the rear pass area for the wife without spending $20-25k to replace a bike you ride only 2,600 miles on avg yrly which doesnt justify a new bike IMHO UNLESS MAYBE YOUR LOADED WITH $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ AND 20-25K IS NOTHING FOR YOU TO SPEND.
I still have my 07 that I bought used 4.5 years ago with 3K on it. At 30K miles now I have considered going to a Roadglide but cant seem to do it after thinking about the thousands I have spent getting this poor old sled the way I like it. In the long run do what makes you happy. Who cares what we think...
I'm perfectly happy with my 2003. I have Rivco Adjustable Floorboards, and my wife loves them. If you have lots of disposable income, do whatever you want. I'm keeping my bike as long as it runs. I have other hobbies to spend money on. Plus with our uncertain economy, I'm saving as much as I can for retirement.
I think renting is good idea. Let us know if you really notice much difference.
I have an 06 Ultra and I'm sticking with it. Lots of upgrades done to get it where I want it, and its paid for. The new ones are nice, but not $$$ nice IMHO. Next up for me is installing the Progressive tour link.
I agree.

21,000 miles is nothing. My 09 has 101,340 miles as of this afternoon. Keep your 08.
