I have had my 2012 Electra Glide for 4 seasons now. As far as sitting in the saddle, I have not been completely comfortable. ( Not from the comfort of the seat)
I am on my 3rd seat now and they are getting expensive. I am 5'-8'' I have always had plenty of room and stood over the seat on my last 2 Wide Glides and Super Glide. This bike sits much higher. The first seat was ok, HD brand. It was not at all comfortable for my wife. I then purchased the reduced reach seat from HD. That brought me too close to the tank and my legs got bunched up on the floor boards. I now have a Mustang vintage solo (wide) I did not pick up on the (wide) until I had already ridden the bike. This seat spreads my legs so much that I cannot sit flat footed and I have to pull myself up close to the tank when I come to a stop. I am almost ready to trade it in for a Street Glide. ( I don't want to do that)
I have the air shock lowering kit in the rear, so that has been done.
I would love to get feedback before I order the next seat.
I am looking at the Mustang Tripper Solo seat
First things first, does your local MoCo dealer have seat rentals?
If so, they'll let you try other MoCo seats for free. Mine does, but it's only for newer models... but you should be fine.
Second, and I know this sucks..but it may be time to look into a custom seat instead of a new bike.
Mean City Cycles seems to be a favorite around here.
I'm sure there's a "local" upholstery guy that may be able to help as well.
I have an Air Zepplin seat into a local guy right now who's going to make it more narrow and slimmed down.
A new seat/modified seat is always cheaper than a new bike. But buying seat after seat gets expensive, believe me, I know...lol.
Mean City Cycles will customize your seat to get your feet down; they've done a ton of seats for members here. The 2009 frame change made everything wider and harder for us to get our feet down. You can probably find someone in your area to do the same thing; you need the seat narrowed a bit and problem solved.
Some guys on here are praising the police seat and then adding a pillion behind it for the passenger. It actually doesn't look bad at all. I have to admit, I've sat on a couple of police bikes at the dealer. The seating position is extremely comfortable. Whoever suggested trying the dealer demo seats gave you great advice. Whoever said don't downgrade to the Street Glide seat also gave you good advice. But consider that maybe you need to lower your bike. You could test this by going to the dealer and trying a new Limited or Classic Low model

I just bought a Sundowner seat for my bike mainly for 2 up riding. For the rider the seating position is pretty much like the stock seat but more comfortable. The dealer let me have a demo seat for a couple of days for me to try before I made the purchase.
Thank you for such quick advise. Great advise!!!!
I was joking about the Street Glide. I am not parting ways with this bike.
One day 2 years ago, we did 400 miles from Gettysburg to the Delaware shore line. (with a few stops at civil war sites) The bike was awesome! I plan on swinging by my HD dealer. I really dont want an HD seat, but a chance to try for free......
If you want to sit lower and also have a more narrow and more comfortable seat, check out LePera. I have the Maverick with rider backrest and it does all of the things mentioned above. I seldom use the backrest but bought that version because the lumbar area was more comfortable for me. The non backrest version has a higher lumbar that didn't fit me right.
I have a 12 ultra classic ,and like you I am 5 9 , I tried all kinds of seats and could not find one that worked well for me. I finally sent the stock seat to MCC and had it narrowed, lowered an inch and back an inch and I am surprised how well it fits me now. I wish I would of went this route befor spending money on other seats.
