Hey everyone I need some help with my 2013 RoadGlide that I recently purchased. It seems to be having some trouble in the 3-4 gear range at higher RPMs while shifting up. It's grinding going into the gears. Not every time but 3out of 10 shifts. Here's what I have done so far to try to alleviate it.
Clutch Adjustment
Changed primary and tranny fluids
There was not much residue on the magnetic drain plugs. Not enough to warrant worry.
My theories on what could be wrong:
Warped clutch plates
Bent shifter dogs
Anyone else care to throw a guess out there? I have been working on Harley's for a long time but I have never been into the tranny. I have had plenty or primaries off and rebuilt countless clutch packs but I am totally illiterate when it comes to the inside of the 6 speed.
My habits of shifting
I don't ease it in to gear
I fully pull the clutch lever
Any help would be greatly appreciated before I just start throwing parts at it.
