Looking at your pics, I thought mine came from the fill fitting, under the the fender strut/mount to the area just aft of the battery, then up between the fender and the fender mount, it ran along that cable (showing the partial number 69 in your pic), then back down under the strut, to the shock.

But that was 6-8 months ago, and mine is a 2012 Limited. If it was in fact run under the fender, there would have to be some tubing mounts that would keep it up out of the way of the wheel, belt, belt pulley.

Just make sure where ever you run it, it doesn't get pinched or chaffed.....

Good luck...

That's exactly what I did. Over the fender, by the edge of battery area and then to the other side under the strut.

This morning, I installed the tube roughly to check if it holds pressure. I put it at 40psi. After about 2 hrs, it was down to 38.5. I think it's because when I took the air pump off, I lost some air as i would hear a "swoooosh" sound of air leaving every time.

Also, I made another mistake. I didn't bleed the air out from this morning before removing the tube to route it. The air pressure would have been 38psi and air just leaked in a hurry. Small amount of fluid came out as well. Hopefully it's not a big deal.

I left it at 45 now, how ever I took the air pump out with the pump handle extended and took out the nozzle straight out (not at an angle) and no air leaked. So hopefully this is it.

I'll keep u guys posted. Thanks for all the tips and comments.

Thanks for checking that for me.

I've since changed my shocks to Ohlins, but I do remember the tube being over the fender when I did the change out.

Hello all,

So I checked the pressure now. It's at 42.5 psi. 3 hrs ago I left it at 45 psi.

Is this normal?

I bet the PSI you are losing is what you lose checking pressure. They hold very little air volume. You now have working pressure where before you had none. If you truly are leaking it is probably around one of the quick connects.

You can make another attempt at it with your extra hose or just check the pressure every morning before riding the day on your trip. If it were me I would consider it fixed for now but would keep a check on it.

If you try again, make sure to cut the tube without distorting it. Try this trick. Using a razor blade, roll the tube under the blade back and forth to get a clean straight cut without distorting the tube. Slide it in until it bottoms out and that's about all you can do at this point. Roll that extra tubing up and take it with you just in case.

If you find you are losing pressure during the day, stop at a dealer and explain the situation to a service writer or tech and see if they can help. I'm sure you will travel near one during the trip.

Over the fender is the correct routing.

I have my doubts you should leave home on a bike. Yes I am dick, but could save you from sitting on side of road waiting for serial killer.

Also you should know many places do not have cell reception and that doesn't guarantee anyone will come odd hours.

You could always use dish soap and water to test for slow a leak. Just dab some around the new connections. If you have a slow leak a bubble will form.

When I still had my air shocks, I'd pump them up 10psi higher than I planned to use.
When you check with any air gauge, I use a quality Milton, you're going to lose a few PSI.
Temp/riding will make the PSI higher, just like a tire.
