Am I the only rider that hates the PTT button on the right handlebar? I had a 2000 Ultra Classic & the PTT button was on the left handlebar & the Cruise Control button was on the right handlebar. I bought a 2016 Ultra Limited and they are now reversed. I've done two cross country trips on this new bike & I hate having the PTT button on my throttle hand. I think it's a safety issue. I'm trying to warn the riders behind me of a dangerous situation while trying to roll off the gas & grab some front brake; all at the same time, with the same hand. Am I the only one that really dislikes this change? And does anyone know of a way to change this?
First one to admit I don't know anything about electronics but.....each button must have 3 wires...ptt, sq +, sq- and cruise on/off, +, -. Is it really not possible to find the end of those wires away from the switches and move them to in effect reverse the buttons? Probably a stupid idea but there are some really bright mechanical guys on this forum.............
disassemble switch down to circuit board and solder wires between contacts and run wire to left side to a momentary switch on left side. May void warranty.
This and the brake pedal angle have been complaints of people updating from older touring models. I came off a softail so I never had the old muscle memory. To me the location seems fine but I didn't have to re-learn it.
I must be the only person who actually likes the brake pedal higher but companies like Ez/Soft Barake have come out with parts to change it back. I have not seen anything for the harness as of yet but could probably be done easily with a jumper harness on the back of the head unit. Both ends of the handlebar harness have connectors.
I hated it at first, I don't even think about it anymore. It's become a non-issue for me but if I were asked I'd say my preference is to have it where the odometer button is. I do like having the squelch control at my fingertips and it makes sense to incorporate the PTT with the squelch.

You are probably correct about the 3 wires because each to the buttons have the same functions. However, the service manager at my local dealership said they are all together in one harness and can't be separated. I honestly don't know.
