I want to install a set of speakers that I can connect to an iPoD on my 07 RKC. I like the looks of the chrome speakers mounted on the highway bars so as not to interfere to much with the streamline look of the bike. Anyone have any expierence with a set up like this? Can you reccommend a company or maunfacturer?
Sorry, no help on the speakers themselves.
But I know you can't go straight from the Ipod to speakers, you need some kind of reciever or amplifier in between.
Try uniqcycle.com
That's where we got our speakers to work with the iPod.
One caution--Mounting them on your engine guard may not give the passenger enough volume. We ended up mounting them on the bars by the switch housings.
I realize that I'll need to install an amplifier as well. HDBiker hows the volume at highway speeds?
The amp comes with it, Cannon. It has an adjustment on it for volume, then you just set the volume on the pod as high as it will go. They also give you a remote that I ran up thru the Sundowner (it has the slit for a backrest) for Michelle to adjust.
She can hear perfectly well running 80.
Caveat---I use Limewire for downloads, some songs, depending on how they were recorded, are hard to hear at any speed.
She really likes it. It has my recommendation. Make sure you buy the full size speakers though. You'll have to adjust the pod to your liking--no bass adjustment on the amp.
