Default Low Fuel Light - Backwards ??

I have an 07 RG which I recently had painted. I've now noticed that my low fuel light comes on ONLY when I fill my tank. It will go off when the tank's at about 3/4 full. Could a sensor or cable have been plugged in backwards during re-assembly ??

Thanks

Kind of sounds like a problem with the sending unit in the tank.

Float is hung up or installed incorrectly. Probably upside down?

Who did the disassembly and reassembly, you or the paint shop? Also, I presume the gauge is reading properly or you would have mentioned that also. There is no way the fuel pump, gauge float and filter assembly can be installed upside down. I, along with everyone else responding so far, have no idea what actually triggers the low fuel light, if it is the ECM or a computer board in the fuel gauge or if it is something else. There is a very "Mickey Mouse" ground connector on the plastic casting and it that was overlooked on assembly or not correctly located might contribute to your problem. Until someone who actually understands the system chimes in, the rest of us are just shooting in the dark.

On a roadglide, the wires to the fuel gauge run through the fairing interconnect harness and the wires from the tank, run-into the main harness. The wires on the top of the tank will only plug in 1 way. The wires in the fairing cannot be plugged in backwards without considerable dumb *** effort.

Given you have had the sending unit out of the tank and the tins off the bike, i would suggest you start first to see if the ground wire is off the triple trees near the iginition switch.

If that is present, i would then disassemble the tank and make certain the float has been released and is still not cocked to the side from disassembly
Last, i would then check the guage in the fairing. The system works or it does not there is no in between. My $$ is on the sending unit in the tank being cocked at an angle. There is a small catch in the unit you have to release after putting it into the tank which is probably the hung up
