Default True Dual Question

I have a set of Rinehart TDs on my 04 Road King. Have around 150 miles on them so far. I know this has already been posted, but just so you understand, they chirp like an entire flock of birds are nesting inside the mufflers. I contacted Bub and they said they know Road Kings have this issue and they don't know how to fix it. They said it isn't the mufflers but the tuning of the engine. What is that all about? Can anyone help me understand where they are coming from with this? Sounds like a bunch of BS to me.

And what colour is the inside of the muffler now? A golden brown? Perhaps jet black? I would bet very very clean. When exhaust is changed to freer flowing the mixture tends to be much leaner, almost as if the new pipes were sucking the air through. When I put my Vance and Hines true duals on, I couldn't believe just how much I had to enrichen my motor. I knew I had to fatten it up, but just not how much. Yours is fuel injected? Probably need to add a Power Commander or something to fatten it up. My is a 99 so all I had to do was twist the TPS.
I don't think anything changes the way a bike runs more than changing the exhaust.

It is fule injected, SE air, stage I, and I have a PCIII. With only 150 miles on it, there really isn't much carbon inside the mufflers. Why would the tuning be causing a chirping sound?

Check the rubber bushing where the 2 bolts go into the muffler to hold them up. They have a tendency to shrink over time because of the heat and can make quite a racket use some never seize or some grease to see if it stops. Also make sure your exhaust is not bound up as in you left everything loose/finger tight as to not get something bound/torqued when you tightened the mufflers up. Here's how i did myexhaust. Have everything finger tight. Start at the heads and snug up the head bolts work back and do the tranny mount then the under the seat mount, then tighten up the bolts that hold themufflers under the saddle bags, last thing you tighten is the clamps that hold the mufflers on to the tail pipes. I don't think it has anything to do with the type of bike you have or your tuning -- it's how the baffles fit inside the muffler. Bub tech support has recommended that I "ovalize" the end of the baffles to get a tighter fit, as someone else here has done and it worked. Bub has also offered to send me a new set of baffles if I return my chirping set. I think something's going on with how their baffles fit.
