The Road Glide is very stable in windy conditions, something to consider.

If it was me, I would definitely go with the RG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The SG gives you better protection from the elements. This also helps with the stereo system and being able to use it stock. The SG windshield SUCKS (depending on your torso hight). It does little to protect you without ducking and buffers pretty bad. Bars and windshield fix what I don't like about the SG.
The RG gives you extra fairing storage. The wind crashing into you is a lot better than the SG, it's smooth and clean. It is more wind and that's what makes your stock stereo useless above 50. The RG feels lighter on the bars but the extra weight on the front tire can push the front end in a corner, especially with a little gravel. The RG's I've ridden with get better MPG's on the same trip (could be a lot of things, besides aerodynamics ). The RG looks are all personal. IMO the RG looks better than a SG from the side, but not the front. And I also think the RG looks naked without lowers.
I would go with the RGU and pull the trunk before I got a RGS.
Only you can choose your bike. Hope I helped.

Just get the road glide. It pisses SG owners off how much RG owners love their bikes. That's reason enough.

Never had a problem with my batwing in very windy conditions. Plenty of other people have experienced the same stability.

Graham and RKZen have given you the only advice that you should listen to. The rest is just noise...

I have both...my 0.02:

the SG is sportier, the RGS is relaxed, I don't get beaten up by the big trailers on the highway

comes to personal preference, not sure what bike you're coming from, either way, you can't go wrong!

good luck!

I went in certain I was going to buy the Road Glide--and rode off in a Street Glide. I test rode both. They're both awesome. I don't really know why I picked the Streetglide, but it was probably for aesthetic reasons... not that I think the RG is ugly, but that the SG is closer to my "persona"... hard to explain. I would have been just as happy on the RG. I probably didn't help one bit, LOL!

Pretty solid advice........
