Hello, presently riding a FLHRCI and just replaced the grips with an off brand that I liked the looks at.
Install went good except for the throttle side. The throttle would not allow the brass furles to fit. The little ***** on the end of the cables did fit and work.
Question is, will this going be a problem in the future?
Do they have a metal lining or insert where the ferrules would go? I replaced mine about two weeks ago with HD grips, with the tension the cables have I would imagine the cable cutting into the rubber eventually, but that's obviously just an uneducated guess
Thought about it and if they didn't want the brass piece in there they would have made it that way. So after 1.5 hours of sweat, cursing and rum, it's back together with the brass ferrules in there.
To anyone attempting this, make sure you have a pick to use before you start. Tried to use a Allen key and it makes it way harder than it needs to be.
Thanks QC and Jeeper 101 for your responses.
