Maybe you are right and Harley is different from other manufacturers but it does not hurt to ask.
I once had an entire GM car repainted for free out of warranty due to a major paint defect.
It does appear that another forum member had a problem with a stand and it was replaced.
So it might not be isolated.
If Harley does not replace the part then at least the poster took a moment to send an FYI out for others to check.
I guess i see it differently.

When a company goes above and beyond, it's a wonderful thing, something to be admired. Unfortunately, it's just not the norm.
