Love mine, very easy to install and use and you can remove it after flashing if you don't want to have it on the bike. I keep mine installed all the time so I can see all the stats on the smartphone app connected via bluetooth.
If they are as good as the previous fuel paks, should be worth it. I put a older version on mine because it's a 09 and they hadn't come out with the fp3 yet. It gave a little more performance and reduced the heat from the engine. If you need to take the bike in for warranty work, all you should have to do is return the map back to stock and remove the module from the bike and they shouldn't be able to tell it was on there. But I've had my bike in for warranty work a few times and they never said anything about the fuelpak. If I ever get a newer bike, I will put a fp3 on it unless there is already a tuner on it.
Simply put - it's fantastic. The bike runs great. Load a map, run a couple auto tune sessions and you're done. The perfect solution for stage one upgrades.
I've been considering purchasing one of these, but, I just noticed a disclaimer on the Vance and Hines website that states, "NOT LEGAL FOR SALE OR USE IN CALIFORNIA ON ANY POLLUTION CONTROLLED MOTOR VEHICLES"
About to order an FP3 for my 2015 Road Glide Special.
Who's using one out there? Are they as good as I think they are?
Any issues with removing it for warranty? (If anyone has needed to)
Vance and Hines says it leaves no trace when the stock map is reloaded and the tuner is removed.
Thoughts?
Thanks all!
I had mine put on at last year's Daytona Biketoberfest. Although it made an immediate small difference, it really started shining when I stopped at a dealer on the way home to Illinois and had my stock headers replaced with power duals! One word of warning: The initial flash from FP3 (before you autotune) may result in the bike being easy to kill at low rpm's. A quick 20-30 minute autotune session will fix that and make the bike run great. Do Not Autotune much longer than that! It will result in a much more sluggish map!
