Default Piston Rings - Install

Upgrading to a 95" on my TC88. Friend loaned me a couple different ring compressors. Tried both on my old cylinder / pistons - for the life of me I could not get the piston installed more than a couple times out of 10. Sharp blow - etc. just didn't feel I could use the ring compressors on the 95" (real thing).

Long story short - had better luck by hand and one ring at a time.

So, how does everyone else install the pistons?

Thanks,

large hose clamp does the trick one ring at a time.

Might be your technique - I used a ring compressor and it worked very well. Some of our mechanics still do it the old fashioned way, though.

My ring compressor has multiple bands for different size pistons.

Works like a champ. I install the pistons into the jugs on the bench, then stab the wrist pin & clipwith the bottom of the piston poking out the bottom of the cylinder.
