Sorry for posting another seat thread... So I was on a long trip, and by day 6 my *** was killing me. I'm running the stock FLHTK seat. I have a lead on a Zeppelin seat, so I'm demoing one now from the dealer, and although I find it more comfortable, it doesn't seem to be the answer for me either. It sits me up to high, and although I can still reach the ground, I'm worried in a panic situation I might not have as good of footing, and I'd also have to get a taller then stock windshield because it has my glasses buffeting now. I'm also surprised that it doesn't put any air under your ***, only under your legs and behind your back.
What i'd really love to find is a seat that keeps me at stock height, but pushes me forward just a bit. I have a bit of a hard time reaching the bars in a relaxed position, and I'd rather not have to pay for a more comfortable seat, AND a new set of bars... Oh, and just to be picky, I want to be able to keep my adjustable riders backrest...
Most aftermarket seats will move you back at least a little bit. Some of the mustangs and the ultimate seats will push you forward (I felt cramped on both, but everyone is a little different).
Another option is Mean City Cycles, they do good work and will set it up however you want..
