Got mine one week ago today. Loving every mile so far. Wife loves it as well and as the saying goes, "happy wife equals happy life". Be safe and see you on the road.
Got my 17 RG Ultra, traded my 15 CVO Limited. Was about to do the 117 on the CVO so I test rode the 8 and now own an 8, I ordered the bike with a 114 stage 3 kit, after riding for a few hundred miles I cancelled the kit. Plenty of power everywhere so far. Good MPG, about 220 per tank as of today. only added the SE slipons, very mellow, so dam quiet I dont have to upgrade the stereo. Now I am at a loss for what I should spend my Harley money on......... unfmiliar territory for me maybe some heated grips????
I a liking thee RG vs the Ultra though, feels muck more planted in spirited riding. Could be the upgrades to this years shocks and forks though.
Went in to test ride the a new Road Glide. Since my current bike is a 2009 Electra that is over 100hp and has a lot of mods including suspension I decide I would ride a 2016 RG first then the 2017. Riding the 2016 I instantly felt like I had got on a very much stock sluggish bike, the ride was nice but it felt like it couldn't get out of its own way. I came back and jumped on a new RG Ultra. First thing I noticed was the strange input you feel in clutch lever when you shift the bike, you actually feel the click of shifting not a bad thing just odd feeling. I took the bike for a pretty nice ride including some high speed highway riding. I got to say this thing for a stock bikes has about a perfect power band. I never felt once I needed more power, although the lack of noise with the power was hard to get used to lol. I would still need new exhaust. I'm going to go back and ride again I ve been wanting a Road Glide so now do I get the 17 or maybe the 16 which they are dealing on and add power?????
I told myself it would take something pretty darn significant to get me off my 2011 CVO. When the 14' came out I looked but but didn't even do a test ride. I was impressed with the changes but was also wondering when Harley would make an engine change. When I saw the new Milwaukee-Eight last week I did a test ride. Very nice. The heat, or should I say the lack of it really impressed me. That's been my only issue on my current ride.
What pushed me over the top to buy my new Ultra Limited was the stage III Kit availability. The power I've been looking for while being EPA 50 state compliant and covered by a factory warranty.
Hope to pick it up in the next several weeks after the stage III install.
