There would have to be a firmware update to support it. Its truly remarkable this day and age that they cant get even this small detail right.
I use a 64 G in mine everyday. As for ZIP drive (the real zip drive) they have not made one in many years .
I think you mean a flash drive aka memory stick aka usb drive
PS some flash drives come with software already on them. It can often interferer with use on things other than a computer.
Format for FAT 32 then start over.

Just format the 64 to get rid of any software that came on it use fat 32 then plug it in
It will work just fine with no partition. I just dumped another 140 songs on mine.
