Do it this way and you shouldn't have a problem.

So I spent about 3 hours on the bike last night and finally got it right. Turns out my problem was two fold. The sleeve on the cable was definitely part of the issue but I also found out that the cable was bunched up inside the fairing after I cut the ziptie holding the cable to the frame.

I started by removing the cable from the bars and dripping some trans fluid down inside to lube it up. Then I cut the bunched up sleeve away from the cable so the adjustment screw could seat properly. After that I went through the entire adjustment process 2 or three times with no luck (way too much slack in the cable). Thats when I cut the zip tie and found out that the cable was bunched up in the fairing. Things got easier at that point but I still wound up having to tighten the adjustment screw on the clutch further than you're supposed to.

All in all I'm going to change the cable when I change my exhaust in a few months. I think the cable is where I'm getting all of my trouble from. Right now I have a nice, smooth clutch but theres no way I'm gonna get another clutch adjustment out of the cable.

Make sure the ***** are seated properly in the ramp under the cover where your clutch cable goes into the bike. I'd be willing to bet thats your problem (or at least part of it). I had a hell of a time a few years back trying to get them right when I changed my cable out.

The picture I attached has an arrow pointing to the button you push to start a new post.
