Hey guys, I am putting some FMB 12" Mayhem bars on my 2016 Road Glide. I know folks have said that extended wires are not needed but does that mean if you tug and pull you can get them to work or that there is plenty of length? I don't mind spending for the extended wire kit from Namz if it will make my life easier. And the same questions goes for the Brake and Clutch lines. I would like to keep the original routing of the lines.
Just did 12" Wild1 chubby apes, the switch wires just barely made it, was tugging on them to fit. Ended up using the Namz extensions, perfect. Clutch n brake line no issues, plenty length.
I would say to add the length of wires for the simple fact, it will be easier to run the wires (you dont have to find the "exact way" they reach) and if you want to go taller, that part is already done.
I have installed taller bars on two 2016 CVO Street Glides. One pair of Wild One WO576 14" and another pair of 12" bars I think are very similar to what you are installing (see pic below) I used the Namz part # NHCX-CB14 Handlebar Control Complete Harness 48" Plug-N-Play for 2014-Up Baggers. Cost $60 but made the job super easy. The heated grips were another story. The stock throttle by wire cable will be long enough as will the clutch and brake cables. You will need to carefully reposition them but both my buddies were plenty long even with the 14" bars.
There are a lot of good videos on youtube on this. This one shows how the clutch and brake cables are repositioned
I just did 12" Factory 47 Signature Bars on my 2016 Road Glide. Didn't have to add to anything, the wires and lines fit with room to spare. If your wires do come up a little short, look where they will connect back up inside the housing. Those connectors are attached to a plastic mounting plate. You can detach them from that mounting plate and that will give you more to work with.
Watch the video on the Factory 47 webpage. The guy installs a set of 14" bars and he shows how that plate simply clips off and gives another couple of inches of wiring on the backend to work with, I didn't need to do that though.
