Default Header Removal

I throwing this here again in hopes of more traffic and help......

'16 FLTRU what are you guys doing to remove the headers? With this being a liguid cooled bike, I'm a bit leery to pull off either of the lowers in order to get to those exhaust bolts. Can anyone share some pics or suggestions to what you did or what types of sockets, wrenches helped you with this process? HD didn't give very much room on them to get in their and do it.

Maybe some pics if you have them? Haven't found much in the way of a helpful video on it.

TIA

I didn't do anything differently than I'd done in the past with the older bikes. IIRC I had to use an open-end wrench on one of the front nuts, but otherwise it was no big deal.

I've never taken the lowers off to remove exhaust. Used a 1/4" ratchet with extension bar to remove front header exhaust nuts with no problems.

Same here with my '15 Limited... 1/4" drive socket & extensions, wrench for one of the front nuts although I have used a ratchet/socket with no extension for that one also.

Shouldn't have to remove lowers but you will have to pull the right foot board off at the frame to clear the exhaust.

Ok.....just down there looking it's just a super tight space to get into for the top bolt and didn't know if you guys were doing anything special. Please keep the tips and tricks coming though. No telling who might have a winner winner chicken dinner idea!

I used a 3/8 with an extension. Put a towel on the fender for the front bolts.
Just take your time.

Same here and I'm even able to use my torque wrench on all four fasteners.

Going to be working on it this weekend. Removing my Rush system and going with the Pro Pipe along with my FP3.
