You can get the correct part number by using one of the on-line parts websites, then try the larger on-line dealers, to see if they have one in stock. Stranger things have happened! I have seen details of a specialist who repairs speedos, which a determined search around HDF may uncover. Otherwise you may have to go aftermarket.
You didn't say what bike you have. I have a stock speedo from an 05 Road King that you can have for shipping costs, if it would fit. It is a low mileage take off that I had replaced with a speedo-tach when I bought the Road King. pm me if interested.

I've got a full set of gauges from a 2001 Electra Glide Classic in my garage somewhere, let me see if I can dig them up this weekend. I pulled them off of mine a few years ago and replaced them with a set of Medallion gauges.
speedos changed around the tbw years. they use a different plug and a different set of internals. you may get an 09 to work but all that may work is the backlight, the miles and the speedo. your other internal speedo lights and functions may not work.
i think ebay may be a good shot for an 01 or pinwall cycle in ohio deals in older parts.
Replacing the speedo with another used one will work? I heard or read it somewhere that it will work for a couple of miles then the speedo will stop working because of someone how configuration with the computer of the bike

I forget what year it changed....I think 07....the speedo info is stored on the bike computer. So if the newer ones get changed out, the data loads from the computer to the speedo.
06 and older it is stored on the speedometer....so if these get switched out, whatever is on the speedometer is what it will start the mileage reading from.
The two different speedometers are not compatible.
