For the past 2 years, I have been using an aftermarket King Tourpak. The problem that I'm starting to have is not in the actual tour pak but when I'm staying over in a hotel, I hate removing it to get my things into the room.
Its great for when I'm riding around and need to bring an extra jacket or helmet or even if I'm going to a store.
I'm going to an event this weekend and the host hotel is going to be crowded. It would be easier to just use a bag which I can throw over my sissy bar. I'm not looking for something that I would tour the country with, full of clothes but something small/medium size to carry an overnight outfit.
You remove your tourpak to take into a hotel? Good grief! There are lift-out soft bags that fit inside them for 60 bucks, as well as others to go inside your saddlebags. I have genuine H-D ones, plus a bag to go on the rack on top of the tourpak. All simple stuff and cheap enough, just take a look at the H-D website, go the Shop tab. There are also aftermarket alternatives.
Not much time to get something online, but a trip to the local HD or motorcycle shop might be good.
I have this HD bag for an overnighter. That and my saddlebag liner luggage is plenty for clothes and such. I use it often as a daily trunk in the back or to store my full face helmet and rain gear when I'm using my TP.
