Never thought about the 16's. If you don't have to have the latest and greatest, that might be the best way to go. I've heard here on the forum that they are making great deals on the 16's I have read threads that some dealers where throwing in 110 upgrades for free and other's that said they got several thousand off.
I'll think long and hard about an upgrade when the 18's come out. I like what I'm reading about the new motor and went to a dealer to see and hear one. Very nice!! But my 2013 is great and I'd like to wait a year for any possible bugs to be found and fixed and to let the aftermarket to catch up.
Lucky for me I have two. The 08 Road King Classic will be my commuter forever. I'm on my second Ultra and don't have the same love for it as I do the King. But the Mrs. wont ride on the Road King and wants me to have an ultra for when she wants to go for a ride or trips. You have to love a woman that wants you to have two Harleys when you'd be happy with one.

LOL couldn't agree with you more. My wife has no issues with whatever I decide. I thought the same thing as you. Wait till 18, let the aftermarket catch up... etc.. But I think I'm right now just frustrated. So I need to make sure I don't make a decision right now! :-)... I'll wait to see what the shop says and go from there. Biggest bummer is riding season is getting short here in WI and my bike is not in my garage... I did hear a lot of the same things on the forum about the '16's... We'll see...
If your engine is hunting... Pull the Engine Temp Sensor and clean the sensor and the orifice... It will adj the afr based up its ohm resistance of the heat signature... when its up to temp (on initial startup) a failed or failing ETS will cause the engine to "hunt"
Whirring on mine was the trans main bearing. New gearset, $ 1800 total, mine was still under extended warranty.
Well we'll see here in the next couple days I suppose. Sorry, but I hope your wrong. If I have to put $1800 into this bike again to simply trade it in, I will NOT be happy. You know I talked myself into hanging onto it last week after the last repairs. Guess somebody is trying to tell me something. bummed...!! :-(

Well I got my bike back today. My mechanic wants me to put 500 miles on it or so and then he will drop the primary and trans fluids to check the magnets, and then will square up after. Not sure what the total bill will be, but my main trans bearing was shot. Race had fallen out AND the piece that holds the ball bearing in a ring... Freaking PLASTIC! Two of the ball bearing were missing and stuck to the drain plug magnet. Also changed out the primary chain tensioner to an after market model. Don't recall the brand. Then also the belt drive pulley?? I believe it was. 50% of the teeth were ground down to almost nothing? My guess is I am going to be up around the your bill... Last week was the inner primary bearing\race and new SE Comp. It was when I got it back a couple days later I heard something else. So now here we are... :-( Ugggg...
I've stuck a few bucks in this thing the last week. Almost feel like I should just hang onto it now. Was thinking about upgrading to an M8, but dang, $2000 + on repairs then trade if off? Tossed...!
I was looking back through the thread and couldn't find if you ever said how many miles are on it?
Just under 50K... 49 something or other... I know I've read over the years guys having their Comp replaced closer to 30K. I know some of it I have to chalk up to bad luck. I read guys on this forum have 100K miles and never did anything but regular maintenance. IDK... I'm tossed... I've got so many new parts in my bike and it should\could last many years without any major work now. I could get into a '17 and with my luck be one of the guys on the forums with the '17 issues. Thing is, then its under warranty. Still have to take the bike in to the shop though!
If you are gonna trade do it before 72000 miles. This way the dealer can offer a ESP after that they can't... That is the point of no return and after that the value drops like a bad habit.

Hey... awesome, thx for the tip..! I have 4 shops within 30 miles of my house. I got to one of them just before the '17 had come out. I was thinking about upgrading. They offered me $10.5K... Needless to say I still have my bike.
