Hello all. I'm about to trade in my '07 Screamin' Eagle Road King and I have my eye on a 2014 Limited w/ 8700 miles....it's all stock except some Basani 4" slip-ons. Anything I should specifically look out for?
The 2014's had a few recalls. One for the brakes I think, one for the hydraulic clutch and one for the pins that attach the saddle bags to the brackets. Make sure the recalls were taken care of.
Thanks. It's from a dealer so I'm sure the recalls are taken care of. I'll certainly check to be sure. Anything I'll be wanting to add.. the limited is pretty darn loaded so i'm not sure what it'll be missing except my RAM mount, a coffee cup holder, & some highway pegs
I bought my 14 Limited in October of 2015-Used with 811 miles. When I bought it, all the recalls had been done. I now have 11k on it. Best bike I have ever owner, but not without some issues.
1. Both front wheel bearing replaced under warranty
2. Inner primary bearing replaced under warranty
3. Shifter shaft stripped. Replaced under warranty
Other then that, it is a great bike. Good luck and ride safe.

My dad bought his 14 ultra limited used at a dealership and none of the recalls had been done. They have since been done. It would be worth asking about.
I have a '14 Limited with 79k miles on it. Bought new in June 2014. It has been the absolutely best bike I have ever owned. I have had next to no problems with it. The very few I have had were covered under warranty:
1. Noisy a** primary after 1k service. Fixed by going to Formula Plus in the primary.
2. Front wheel bearing at 40k
3. Shifter spline stripped around 50k
4. Rear shift linkage arm stripped at transmission (twice)
Clutch lasted 70k miles (somehow ESP covered it!!!). Still on original drive belt. No engine/exhaust mods except for SE slip-ons. Upgraded front fork cartridge to HD premium. Upgraded rear shocks to Ohlins. All recalls performed but never had an issue prior to the recalls.
Purchased my 14 Limited at the end of August, 2013. At first I was worried due to the coolant leaks. Once they figured it out, around 6 weeks later the bike has been trouble free. Recalls were no big deal.
The 14 is almost identical to the 16. A great bike. I only wish I had a bike like this year's ago. Have been riding Harley's since 89. The water-cooled heads really work. Heat is not a problem. Also came from a 07, the 14 is a huge step up.
The major areas you might wish to address are the suspension and a more comfortable seat. I also had my dealer do the stage one flash with SE street cannon slip-ons. Bike runs strong, handles great, has amazing breaks and offers all day comfort.
