Whoever designed these heat shields needs to have their *** kicked and then they need to be drop shipped into the middle of Syria. I tried aligning them up with the FM head pipes with no luck over the course of several months. I got tired of the look so changed my headpipe to the new SE high flow system and again the heat shields fit like ****. Then went on here and bought a brand new set of heat shields thinking mine might have been bent up from constant fiddling....damned things still won't line up. Having a beer across from the dealership while they try and take a shot at it now. Maybe I'm just a dumb *** that can't figure it out. If it were me I would have made it one piece.
I'm glad you didn't design them. One piece would be a bitch to work with. I had no problems lining mine up. Did you watch the Fuel Moto video on YouTube where Jamie shows how to align them? Skip to 12:20

I am living with it but the perfectionist/OCD part of me is twitching slightly lol. Oh well. I'm over it. Just put 250 miles on the bike today and pulled in to a German restaurant for beer and schnitzel.
I did not think much of how mine lined up either. Bring on the trike, I shimmed it(a lot) at the rear where you can't see it and forced it to line up...better.
