Default ATM fluid is from fork?

Have a buddy who runs ATM fluid in the front forks. Says his ride improved a lot. In the reading I have done most say NEVER use ATM. But I wondered what people here think? Also is the a fluid heavy or light hat may help with a better ride. Just ordered rear Ohlins from Howard. 2-2B. Have not got them but, great experience so far. Great person to work with. FYI. Some day will replace the front suspension but for now have to take it one step at a time. Have a 2011 Electra Glide Ultra Limited. Thanks

ATM ? ? ?, What is ATM, may I ask.

I have heard of ATF, Automatic Transmission Fluid, which can be equal to 10 weight oil.

ATM Fluid is the stuff that drips out after you drain your account at the ATM machine.

It's about the weight. Do a little research and find the difference in fork oils and ATF. Different ATFs have different viscosity and addatives, so you can't just say ATF (ATM) or whatever.

I am going to the ATM so I can buy some ATF & research it.

I am just asking the OP what he meant.

P.S. - I prefer BelRay Fork oil.

Forget ATF. It will make a poorly designed front suspension even worse IMO.

I've used ATF, specifically Mobil dexron, for several years and it works well.

Why not use fork oil?
It's what it's designed for.

Suspension tuning requires more info. Rider weight. Passenger weight. Cargo weight. A description for how you ride (canyon carver, interstate mile eater or to/from the bar 4 blocks away).
