Interested to hear from owners that have used an aftermarket 4 point docking system for 2014+ bikes. I would assume that if I use grade 8 hardware, I should have no problems. Not worried about perfect finish, just functional and safe.
Please do not comment if you don't have experience with the product. Hearing that it should only be a Harley part is not helpful. If that was the case we wouldn't have a DIY sticky.
I ran across set on Amazon (prime) and it was maybe 45... Same companies produce (essentially) the same product for my application and I am happier than a pig in a sloppy trough of alimentary waste.
Just to clarify, by safe I mean with a tour pack on and a passenger. Like I said, I'm pretty sure the failure that would be detrimental would be the bolts shearing off either at the attachment point to the bike or the studs where the tour pack mount attaches. Using grade 8 hardware would eliminate this.
