Default Road Glide Ultra Handlebar Options

Considering purchasing a Road Glide Ultra, but the stock handlebars make me feel cramped. My friend has a Road Glide Special, and has apes. But says there is some pin in the bar that does not allow you to change the position. My current ride has LA Chopper 12 inch Bagger Apes, and like that hand position. Looking for experiences with pictures, and options that are available. Thank you for your help.

Have you tried different seats at the dealership to see what will "fit" you to the handle bars?

I have a 2013 RGU with 16" bars and the wiring made the trip but needed new brake and clutch cables.

I know I dont have a pin like on the new ones but from what I have read you just knock the pin out and go.

I think it just there to keep you from rolling the bars so far forward.

Someone else may know more and different from me.

The seat on the FLTRU sucked for me and once I changed the seat the handle bars felt good.

There is a pin you can remove that will allow the stock bars to rotate farther forward. I just went to the Factory 47 Signature bar (14") on my '16 RGU, which required NO cable or wiring extensions. Removing the pin requires removal of the speedo cluster and then the bar clamps is all.

Edited to add: hopefully the '17s are the same....
