Considering purchasing a Road Glide Ultra, but the stock handlebars make me feel cramped. My friend has a Road Glide Special, and has apes. But says there is some pin in the bar that does not allow you to change the position. My current ride has LA Chopper 12 inch Bagger Apes, and like that hand position. Looking for experiences with pictures, and options that are available. Thank you for your help.
There is a pin you can remove that will allow the stock bars to rotate farther forward. I just went to the Factory 47 Signature bar (14") on my '16 RGU, which required NO cable or wiring extensions. Removing the pin requires removal of the speedo cluster and then the bar clamps is all.
Edited to add: hopefully the '17s are the same....
