Let me hear your thoughts. Should I ride or just get in the truck and drive ? My daughter has a soccer tournament at Disney. I will be heading down from Wilmington NC approximately 600 miles. Ok, now for the catch and my concern with riding. I will be leaving either Nov 23rd or the 24th (Thanksgiving Day) and returning Sunday the 27th. I will be traveling about 400 miles down I95 and 70 miles on I4 with everyone on the way to grandmothers house. Is the ride worth the traffic risk ?
I would ride and do the 600 with no stops except fuel. Even then I just pull in and refuel and run helmet never comes off. If i am going for say a 1000 mile ride i might stop after 500 miles to eat a little something. We all have different limits though so only you can make the call.
Traffic would be of concern, but when isn't it? But what if your daughter wants to get away from the "team thing" for a bit and go hang with her dad? You know better than anyone how that might play out.
Can you trailer it there, ride it around, trailer it back?
Interstates on the bike can be dangerous with idiots all around. My passenger gets really uptight on the big slabs, I tend to avoid them on long runs.
