Default OUCH! Bent Rim

Been trying to find a slow leak in the front tire.
I didn't even think to check the rim, but it did not show up when I put the tire in water.

Noticed the leak is more prevalent now that it is colder and looked again today.
Rim is bent, and I am wondering what my options are here.

Hoping to hear from somebody who knows more than me (a large window) if I should think about having the rim repaired or replacing.
Had this 2015 FLHX a little over a year with 18500 miles.

I will try to post a pic.
Thanks in advance for any input guys.

We have bad roads up here and I have taken some pretty hard hits with no damage at all. I can't imagine how hard of a smack it took to do that. As for repairing they say it is OK, but personally I have always been leery of rim repairs on aluminum.

My 2 cents: Definitely buy a new rim, and make a man cave clock out of the old one. Small investment, compared to your life.

This is the way I see it also. If it were mine, I'd buy a new rim. Once I got the tire off I'd inspect the carefully as well, any doubts, I'd get a new tire also.

This...with only 2 wheels there is no reason to chance it.

Definitely get a new rim. You can pick up a stock front wheel pretty cheap on ebay

Absolutely go with a new wheel. You can probably find a take off (maybe even at the dealership or local shop) for a reasonable price. It is not worth risking your life, or the worry you will have even if nothing ever does happen. It would definitely take the fun out of riding if you are constantly thinking about whether your tire is going to fail.

If it were on your car and a steel rim. I'd say smack it a few times with a sledge. Being aluminum and on your bike, I'd would replace it.
