I brought my saddlebags into our bodyshop here at work to be painted. I took them apart very carefully and put all the parts in ziplock bags(left and right). I got the saddle bags back yesterday and went to reassemble them.
As I was attaching the hinge on the left bag, there is a supposed to be metal strip behind the gasket on the lid that has five threaded holes to attach the hinge plate with screws. For some reason on the left bag, it's just gone. I've looked all over hell for it and it's just gone. The other lid I have for the right bag, it's firmly attached. I suppose I could use some very small lock nuts to reattach it but it's going to be a royal PITA.
I'm wondering where I could even find a part like that?
