I just installed the Harley security system with the siren II on my 04 RK. Followed the directions to a T. Fob has been programed to match the system and works. The problem is, the bike will not start. The system is disabled, the red key is not on the dash. When I try to start the bike, it won't fire, and then the red key starts to flash. This is telling me that the system is keeping me from starting. But why is it doing this when the system is disarmed? The orange check engine light will also come on.
Are you disabling the system prior to trying to start by clicking the fob twice? It took me a little bit to learn how long to push the fob for to turn the alarm off. Two short pushes on it. Can you turn it on and off? Does the siren beep when you turn it on (one push, hold it down until it beeps) and when you turn it off?
I just went throught he same thing. You have to marry the ECU to the new TSSM (Alarm Module). There are instructions in the DIY section: https://www.hdforums.com/m_120188/tm.htm
Thanks for the information. I didn't see this type of stuff in the manual. I will give it a try. I had some friends come over this morning to go on a ride so I quickly took out the TSSM and re-installed the old TSM. Will I need to do anything special to reinstall the TSSM? Any reprogramming?
